Patcham Place is a haven for body and soul! I had the tremendous joy of staying over at this gem of a guest house in Clarens, Free State. The rooms envelop you in luxury. The views of the mountains make you breathe deeper. The breakfasts elevate your palette to the level of art. And the service and personal attention of the owners is a benchmark for excellence. Go ahead, indulge in this sumptuous experience!

Attention detail at its best. Johan and Tim made sure our stay was memorable and pleasant. We loved everything, The room was beautiful with high quality linens oozing luxury. Breakfast was amazing, definitely made with love.

What a little gem of a place. From a very warm welcome to a warm goodbye. We had a comfortable stay. Bed was extremely comfy, the room well equipped. The breakfast was OUTSTANDING. We will be sure to visit again in the future.

Patcham is perfectly located near to shops and restaurants.

Johan and Tim were wonderful hosts and Johan went the extra mile to accommodate us when the hosts of the accommodation we'd already booked, were a no show. Tim prepared an amazing breakfast with 5 Star presentation. An exceptional B&B all round and Patcham Place will definitely be our go too place when we re visit Clarens.

Our room was absolutely beautiful with pristine linen, furnishings and decor. The view from our balcony was breathtaking and the curtains ensured a perfectly dark room for restful sleep.

We had the pleasure of celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary at Patcham Place B&B in Clarens, and what a truly remarkable experience it was! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Johan and Tim, the most gracious and attentive hosts we could have asked for.

Our room was absolutely stunning, offering a breathtaking view of the garden and Rooiberg Mountain. It was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and filled with thoughtful touches—tea, coffee, milk, sugar, and even rusks were provided, ensuring that we felt completely at home throughout our stay. Every detail was considered, from the luxurious finishes to the little extras that made our stay so special.

The B&B is situated in a safe and serene area, which only added to the peacefulness of our experience. Johan and Tim’s passion for hospitality truly shines through in every aspect of Patcham Place. We enjoyed delightful chats with them and were treated to a divine breakfast each morning, making every moment feel personal and memorable.

We honestly believe this B&B deserves more than its four-star rating—it’s a six-star experience in every way! Tim and Johan, you have created a rare gem, and your dedication to exceptional service has made a lasting impression on us.

Johan and Tim provided a personalized experience that made the difference between our stay being just another weekend break and an awesome getaway from the stresses of life.

Their can-do attitude and willingness to ensure we were well catered for was a welcome change.

The view from the deck while eating breakfast is great and makes one feel like you are really far away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with such friendliness, that we knew this was going to be a great stay. Johan and Tim were by far the BEST! hosts we ever met through all our travels both local and international. The breakfast was absolutely divine, for a moment there I thought that Tim was a renowned chef with the way he plated our breakfast and how delicious it was, but he insists he's not he just loves playing around with food!! If you want to call that playing around Tim. :) The dining area was gorgeous, the rooms were beautiful, clean and soooo comfortable. I LOVED it, didn't want to go back home.... miss them already... thank you so much guys..
I would recommend Patcham Place to EVERYONE that visits Clarens. You would NEVER be disappointed. The place is so beautiful and serene.
