My wife and I really enjoyed our stay, from the friendly welcome from Karel and Harley (the resident dog) to the amazing views from the room, every day was truly enjoyable.

The room is clean and well equipped. Crisp clean linen with electric blankets and underfloor heating for those cold winter nights. The complimentary sherry, chocolates, tea, coffee, fresh milk make the stay feel a little like home away from home. There are various breakfast options which Karel freshly prepares every morning. (Muffins are top class)

The B&B is well located within a short walking distance from all shops and restaurants though far enough from the centre of town to avoid one feeling as you are stuck within the buzz of this small town.

Karel is an excellent host and always willing to provide his knowledge and advice of the area to make ones stay truly enjoyable and is also open to hearing recommendations from others.

The breakfast was so delicious, the sherry in the room was a great touch. Rooms are clean and beautiful with underfloor heating & heated blankets. Location is just outside of the square but 2 min walking distance. See you soon!

From first contact, our host was warm and welcoming. Every guest comfort had been provided for, with little luxuries built in such as filter coffee and Lindt chocolates in the rooms. The rooms were very clean and extremely comfortable with magnificent views. Breakfast was fresh and to order. We had the most wonderful stay and cant wait to be back!

Sehr nette Gastgeber, schöne Zimmer mit großem Balkon, herausragend gutes Frühstück. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Clarens ist ganz anders als andere Orte in Südafrika: sogar die Schwarzen-Siedlung ist einigermaßen hübsch. Tolle Umgebung, schöne Geschäfte, immer was los, schöne Wandermöglichkeiten, an einigen Stellen Livemusik und gute touristische Infrastruktur.

The stay at Patcham Place was a 5 star experience. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. Room 5 was ideal for us as pensioners. The view from the room into the garden was exquisite. The room was well equiped and very comfortable. I was suprised to see that Karel was very involved with the preparation of the breakfast , and what a great breakfast. Well done to Karel and his staff, you will definitely see us again.

Clean, quiet and attractive guest house very close to Market Square and shops. Tasty and plentiful breakfast cooked to order by our host.
Bird viewing in the back garden with stunning mountain in the background. Perfect setting for a quiet afternoon. Hiking trails nearby.

This B&B goes the extra mile. Small details such as fresh milk daily in you room makes the difference. The breakfast is lovely with personal attention by Karel. White bed linen compliments the spacious room and complimentary bathroom condiments ( black make up face cloth, cotton buds etc. ) are appreciated.Harley the family dog welcomes you with his wagging tail. Will visit again.

Located within 100m of the town square, this property is very well managed by Karel the owner. Clean and comfortable is all one needs whilst visiting the sights and sounds in Clarens. The breakfast is a real winner - the fruit salad is awesome, so are the other fare. Highly recommended.
The road getting there is gravel - but very short distance.

De kamer was prima in orde met uitzicht over de bergen. Schoon, goed bed, goede douche en een heerlijk balkon. Bijzonder was de gastvrijheid van Karel, in het bijzonder het ontbijt dat hij met zoveel aandacht maakt met alles wat je maar wilt! Een aanrader deze plek!

This was a super place to stay in Clarens. The owner is there, hands-on, and everything was just perfect. From the comfortable rooms, balcony with view, cleanliness, small details like freshly ground coffee in the room to the tips on where to walk and what to do in town. Thank you Karel, you are doing a great job and deserve all the allocades you have been receiving.

Lovely stay over, excellent value for money. Wonderful view overlooking majestic mountain. Rooms are lovely, staff are friendly. Breakfast really great. Will definitely stay over at Patcham Place again

We had a wonderful stay at Patcham Place. Karel was incredibly helpful with advice about restaurants, shopping and hiking options. Delicious breakfast and comfortable room. Location was great within walking distance to everything.

Wonderful room, beautiful garden. Karel has thought of everything! From the sherry in the room and chocolates in the fridge to the wonderful cooked to order breakfast, our stay was absolutely perfect.

The place was spacious, with free Wi-Fi, a beautiful view from the bedroom, breakfast was always on time and as per request.
